The sample space for an experiment
is the set of all possible outcomes,
the man in the white bathrobe
reassures himself as he sits
quite alone at 2:00 a.m.
next to a massive stone fireplace,
in his cozy two-story great room,
thumbing through binders of women,
unaware that a giant locust
with the tail of a scorpion
crawls across his left shoulder.

While under a blood moon,
an odd clownish man with an origami
comb over studies the report
written on the back of a hotel bar napkin
from someone on his team of private investigators
sent to Hawaii to uncover
one of the greatest cons
in the history of politics and beyond.

At the same time, the four horseman crouch
beside a stair-stoop on a dark, wet city street.
The pale rider, always the reader,
rolls a pair of orange dice in his hands,
glances at the others and says, Did you know
that in Japan, men with comb overs
are called bar code men?

And at that moment, a faint red star
in Alpha Centauri, lets loose
it’s grip on the universe
and begins to fall from the sky
while a single celestial trumpet
blows some sweetass blues.
