Parting the sea

Fabrice Poussin

Time stopped in the soul of the weary traveler
of endless days.

Unsuspected lives swirl like galaxies
about remnants of his years.

Child in a universe where he might be a giant
even the imagination begins to fail.

Arms extended in a ritual supplication
his eyes are closed to the darkness
of a brightest noon.

Hands to the sea he envisions a parting
to find a way to an eternal shore.

There lie the sandy diamonds of infinity
treasures to sustain existence.

Seeking a new birth in the arms of a destiny
fashioned in depths still unknown.

In a last act of reckless courage he dives
and vanishes as if he perhaps
never was.
