take pride,
in the military
they say,
for all those brave enough
to lay their lives on the line;
but i question why
is it they that have to sacrifice
everything?

what does this country
do for them
once they are chewed up and spit out
after a war?

homeless veterans,
veterans with pstd,
cast aside and thrown away
now that they are past
their prime;

morally corrupt politicians
only care about money and their own goals
i tire of the greed of mankind

you cannot put a price on a human life—

so why do they try?
this is what i want to know,
every life has a purpose;
but no one should have to die
in a senseless war.
