i hate the thought of war
old men
dreaming up new ways
for young people
to die,
no consequences to their
greed and corruption;
the military the only muscle they
can flex
and their only backbone—
yet all i can think about is how many
innocent people and children
are going to die,
because of one man’s fragile ego?
how many families will be torn apart
because of his impulsive
decision,
how many lives will be lost?
the blood will forever be on his hands,
it will be the damned spot
he won’t be able to wash out;
their names will haunt him
ghost hands never releasing him until life
has left his bones.
