She Carries the Music

    Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think,” she sang after they pumped her port with poison, trying to kill the bad without killing the woman.
    She was singing to the patients in the lunchroom when I picked her up from the cancer place, even told me she’d given them her cd’s from a few years back.
    She never stopped singing, even when they burned her throat with the radiation. I wonder how the world will spin the day her steady melody ends.
