do you shout at every stranger
or those you feel you might
get a rise out of?
“hey queer girl, what’s the time?”
oh, there’s so many things i could’ve said;
so many witty lines i just remarked,
“i don’t have the time.”
don’t have the time for bigotry,
hatred, childish games,
or you;
go home child and maybe learn
a proper growth
you cannot cut someone down and gain any height
in the process—
you judge me for my rainbow hat and my
rainbow heart,
but i am not ashamed of who i am;
i am queer and i am here
not going to apologize for either of those facts—
if you’re uncomfortable
then the door is always open and you can always leave,
but i’m a queer girl and that’s not going to change.
