sometimes
I get drunk
and lay in
bed
and
close my eyes
and feel
my limbs,
imagining
them flailing
around in
embryonic
fluid
in utero
in some young mother
and then on the bed
I sense myself dying
and becoming
this new baby
in birth
and all my
evil
demented
twisted
thoughts
are transplanted
in this little baby’s
head as I’m
born
into the same
world
over and over again.

and it’s always the light
that burns and it’s always
me that’s
screaming.
