Rainbow Dreams

I was no longer a part of their world
when I decided to chase after all
the rainbow dreams surfacing the azure sky,
when I dabbed into the colorful hues
of flowery magic, painting my face
with the expression of gayness written
all over it, to become a bright star rising
in the night, spreading its wings, flying
across the world like a blazing blue bird,
like an astonishing airplane, all immense
and serene. For the first time in my life,
I felt so alive and full of the purest light
shining in sight. I was a glistening gem,
a rare treasure lost in the extreme exhilaration,
the sweet enchantment circling the cells
inside my body, a blossoming bridge
leading the way to a whole new world
of amazing discoveries, a fascinating
flavor that you couldn’t help but crave
in the midnight hour, to delve deep
inside my mind and feel the boundless
passion bursting within my existence,
to feel the greatest love of all etched
in my beautiful brown skin, a gay man
finally living life the way it was meant
to be lived.
