everyone’s searching for a saint
to crucify,
avoiding their own flaws and failings;
they need someone to feel their rage
and their pain and grief—
maybe instead of embracing your inner
tiger and looking at the glittering
assemblage of your claws
maybe you can think of something
other than your feast,
release your hate;
perhaps become the dove or the flower
whose soft petals erupt the world in the most magnificent
of colors—
imagine if we loved with a love instead of hated
with our hate,
i imagine the world would be a more beautiful place;
maybe it’s only a dream but if a maiden of the murders of crows can
dream of something other than talons,
perhaps so can you.
