didn’t care for halston
or chanel
or even a purple hat

when you’re a freedom
fighter
evading capture and death
is never glamorous

she grabbed her pistol
and her shotgun
draped herself with
psalm 91
and cloaked with only
moonlight and god
leading her

with the strength of angels
she saved the all

fanfare, is a song for others
heroes can have their holidays
and gloat over
triumphs

Harriet just smiles knowing
she earned god’s favor

walking the streets in a
purple hat...
