What My PC Told Me

Richard K. Williams

Your password is very weak
What used to be reserved
For international spies
Military launch codes
Government secrets
Or to gain access
To my friends tree fort
Is now a daily concern
“The rooster crows at midnight”
Is no longer acceptable
Your password must contain
At least eight characters
One capitol letter
One number
One special symbol
I wish my personal life contained those things!
My computer and smart phone
Lead more exciting, clandestine lives than I do!
I know my passwords are weak
They match my memory
The cyber world we live in
Requires too many to remember
And you can’t have just one
Because you have to be wary
Of cyber criminals
That want to break into your cyber universe
To steal your cyber identity
And make off with your cyber life
That’s why there are
Additional security questions to answer too
Your mother’s maiden name
Your first car
The grammar school you attended
There is no safe place anymore
My friends’ tree fort is gone too
And I don’t remember the password anyway
