His Story

Thomas Elson

    On the Friday after Thanksgiving. Inside the car. Blouse. Skirt. Hose. Thigh. Softness. Resistance. Lust. Her eyes screaming, shouting unheeded warnings and imprecations. Lust. Release. Talk. Distance. The plan was to drive her back to the dorm, then drive home.
    But, rain, then thunder, flooded streets, his car forced to drive on sidewalks cautiously crossing streets from one block to the next. Moon hidden. Clouded streetlights the only illumination. Then, a walking skeleton, a suspended spaceship, an ancient icon.
    Alone in the car. One moment.
    Her blood told the facts of his story.
