Of the apple tree
Appear decorated
Frozen droplets dangle
Like tiny crystal berries

Not lasting but a moment
Between the rays of the rising sun
And the birds in their frenzy
To get to the glazed feeder

Silvery peas cascade like
A concentrated concentric hailstorm
Completing the earthward journey
They started as rain
