Poet without a legacy

Two-month old magazine /expired coupon
 /last year’s calendar/
Do I make sense? /
 spectacles with wrong prescription/
 shoes never worn in six years/
I am but a shingle in a granary of grains. /
I scribble with infantile dementia /
strut letters back and forth /
thoughts emulate arms of chaos /
( inarticulate) / like a toothless starving child
pens without ink/ with knotted throats
lined up to applause / my vain efforts /(rhyming)
thorn of emails unanswered /
now I know how it stings/
 I empathize with the boy/
I swiped left on tinder! /
sometimes I wish to be a mannequin /
without any impulse /
nor hungry for meaning /
 I need a reading practice /
scroll, scroll, skip/ my daily routine /
I missed its deadline /
that journal is overdue with mails/
why doesn’t Eliot’s dead poets inspire me? /
nor does Yeats’ architectonic sketch perform any magic?/
maybe because the front row seats/
in star-stud magazines /
are cluttered with renowned poets/
like Hollywood’s elite in Oscars/
(poor fate)/ an underdog like me /
doesn’t even deserve the bleachers.
