Poem 1

when i listen to music it feels like the world at night
quiet and peaceful but the lights of the city are still on
and i feel like i can solve the
worlds puzzles

the silence sounds good and i can think
about the paranormal things i look for at night
when i can’t sleep

a boy walks through the woods
his water making tracks behind him
until it is gone
all of it

so i dream of nose-diving
up from the sky
and i wake up
bouncing in my bed

and i sit next to this great oak
it is oak because i read that trees
are a good symbol
interpret it how you like

everyone wants to be equal and
perceived like the good guy
but i just walk through the city passing nightclubs and churches and
broadway and dirty apartment buildings

i don’t care if people hang on to these words
or not but i just want you to know that at one point or another
i have seen you along those streets
those streets late at night
