Making our health great again, November 2016

Who are we old ones now,
shocked by cattle prods
instead of stethoscopes?
We are cold wails waiting
naked in a line too long
to see the end.

Who are we now,
bent to the will
of so many minds
made up of stone?
Do we who chose our herders
have a right to moan?

Who are we now,
soiled and looking forward
to our showers?
We still follow the cowbell
of hollow hope,
toeing the line
to its end.
