you aren’t armed
enough for this battle,
you will lose;
i made every forest
that contains our names
haunted like a house—
every ghost of you
is a weapon to haunt
and disorient you,
there are so many mirrors
you won’t know which is
truly me or which is an
illusion;
you will reach out and touch glass
i will reach and out take every ruby
of your blood and i will ignore
your tears and your screams and your
pleading
just as you ignored my love—
i will make sure you aimlessly wander
lose every strand of your mind
before i surrender you to your bride death,
and as you lay bloodless beneath the leaves;
i will call my friends the crows and my brothers:
the ravens to devour your flesh and watch
as the foxes and wolves carry off your bones
without remorse or apology—
you thought you were a god,
turns out you were only a man.
