don’t admire you anymore

i used to admire,
look up to you even;
you were so
generous when you gave
to charity

but then you showed your
true colors—

it’s sad when someone
you thought capable of great goodness
turns out to be the very bigot
she raised us to fight against,

many people are trying to excuse
your words but i am not one of them;

trans women are women
and trans men are men
doesn’t matter if your one gay
friend agrees with you—

you may have written harry potter
but hogwart is ours,
the magic and the love is inclusive
to our community;
we’ve just outgrown you because you
are a person who refuses to learn and do
better for herself and others

a rich white woman
mocking someone different than her
is not worthy of my
admiration.
