to watch cops
happily gaining weight
instead of beating
peaceful protestors
to look like they are
creating a riot?

Ain’t it great to be
out of a job or
dishonorably
discharged or
doing nothing
practical except
reading Jane Austen
or listening
to Sarah Vaughan?

Ain’t it great to be alive?
