Through the night sky
the shining pie pan moon
reflects light down
to the ocean’s surface.
Where the edges of rounded swells
capture and reflect it back.
Creating a water galaxy
a sparkling sliver, just beyond
the rocky coast of Maine.

The stars, glimmering pinpoints
in the sturdy shapes
assigned them by mankind.
Enhancing the sky’s glory
on this cloudless night. At
the rocky coast of Maine.

Sitting alone ocean side, listening
to the slap of water against rock
reflecting on the day, marveling
at the night, in Rockland
camping, beside
the rocky coast of Maine.
