Black lives matter

Ezewuzie Nkiruka Juliet

Bang bang!!! The gun goes
A precious life is lost
Every single day our population reduces
Whatever have we done wrong?
We question ourselves every day
We are citizens yet we do not feel safe
We thought the days of slavery were over
yet we still sleep with our eyes open.
We drive at minimum speed
but the cops still stop us.
We try to exercise to stay healthy
and end up in the mortuary.
To them, nothing we do is ever good enough.
We hustle and strive everyday in our own country
yet we are never appreciated
Everyday we lose one,
but we get stronger
They never succeeded in ending our race
They are not going to win now.
We are blacks
We are strong
