Every death reminds you of another
although each may be distinct, unique
like piece of jewelry is heirloom.

For days, weeks, atmosphere’s bleak;
whether celebre or not, gloom
mirrors loss of love or family member,

yours or someone else’s entombed
or cremated with bone ashes scattered.
Even great kings fall, fragile and weak:

though for the famous, thousands mourn, gather.
Mexicans parade away gloom,
wear white in march for what deceased seek.

Should all funerals be jejune?
Not assassinations or drugged treks!
Maybe never for one’s Mother, Father!

Still, people die daily like snowflakes:
plane crashes, accidents due to whether,
making us cognizant of doom.

Every death reminds you of another
although each may be distinct, unique
