She passed 3 A.M. on full moon Sunday
as I knew she would, clutching left hand.
For sure, she was released from pain!

I saw her, forgiving son with wand.
Duties had drowned reason in rain.
He had no ears for what sisters might say

to relieve him of his burden.
He chose unwisely: group home, hospice way
which buried Mother in alien sand.

Younger brother’s advice led him astray.
We thought his fast actions insane.
POA was an insecure man.

Now, he’s free to drive down fast lane.
But, he’ll find there’s no place he can run
to escape his guilt when too late to pray.

Mother was understanding woman
who died peacefully second day of May.
Still, her trust was misplaced, in vain.

She passed 3 A.M. on full moon Sunday
as I knew she would, clutching left hand.
For sure, she was released from pain!
