Somewhere, someone is always being born,
somewhere, someone is always dying;
and, some say process is the same

whether we’re entering or leaving
such lifetime on earth we briefly adorn:
spirit under guise of same name,

learning lessons from past we shun or scorn,
until we pass on, strong or lame,
ripe for adventure or relearning.

Some see this existence as dream;
others believe Maya is lying,
that cornucopia is empty horn.

Some take pleasure in simple breathing
like accepting fog or night rain;
others wander like discontent ghosts, mourn

loss of lost in eternal flame.
I like to think the gone are never gone
after playing well to win last game.

Some say we reincarnate, are reborn
on other side where we’re still working
as rebellious souls without blame.
