Like Lightning

I’m weeping because I sense vanishing
of aged Mother and my best friend;
Silly, for I know she’ll be here

at next beginning which is her end,
always in my heart to calm fears.
I wish I could assuage her suffering,

mend crooked spine with constant care,
repair arthritic bones to walk and sing.
If I were magician, I would bend

Time back when she was easily moving
like gazelle soars out of nowhere;
I’d not be as teary as I tend.

She says, Everyone dies, my dear.
Will I ever be ready to send?
My mom means more than soldered diamond rings.

I don’t crochet or know how to mend;
yet, I think mentor has taught everything.
We’re like lightning then disappear.
