To forgive is to understand, aware
that some who angered you were driven
by madness of addiction, greed,

impatience for future to begin.
Best not pluck flower out with weed,
growing in the mind that is moody fear.

It’s personal healing I need
to forget impulses of those don’t care.
However, some blood ties are broken.

Friend I thought I knew is no longer there
and the lost brother I don’t need.
What’s forgiven must be forgotten.

Sad gardener will plant new seeds
like nurtured marigolds enliven
robot daughter mired in grief and tears.

What was given was taken to end
not one Mother gone but skeleton here.
Payable upon death is deed.
