Pewter Sky

My heart is heavier than pewter sky,
drenching spring buds with deluge of tears.
Mother has become invalid

in two months her son has rid his cares.
Cruel/wicked, what POA did,
breaking his promise like child of the lie!

He dropped her at care center, hid
behind painkillers and buried his Why?
24/7 aid relieves fears;

yet, he removed charge from home without sigh.
On phone he screams like katydid,
drunk with his power that wounds and sears.

Will he waken to what he did
before our mother vanishes, shot deer?
Or, will he sell her house as lucky guy?

No one, nothing, is as it appears;
for some reason, we thought our brother shy.
But, instead of man, he’s still kid.
