Voice is strong, but I know body is weak
as Mom waits impatiently to see
first-born (same when she was young/strong

in Forties after the war debris
when she believed in everything.)
Now, there’s nothing to desire or to seek

except tune of that first love song
before strife and age transformed her to meek,
struggling to hold on before she dies.

But, end of 83 years is train wreck
as daughters whisper, “He was wrong!”
Boys have become monsters of envy,

selling things that do not belong
to them who live in Mom’s house for free
while in group home she’s bird with broken beak.

After years of work, this destiny
seems cruel at hands of disturbed POA.
With her spirit, son plays ping pong.
