Shrinking Woman

As sleeping mother slips away from us,
shrinking woman in the full moon waves
good-bye to daughter, night-walker.

Back in hospice, there’s nothing she craves
as firstborn puts hand on Mother’s.
She knows wise woman will fly beyond bus.

To give Love is all that matters!
Nothing to do with trips or things: fuss/muss.
To care about others is what saves.

For her entire life, Mother sacrificed.
Funny, she let Dad be talker;
but, she had wit and wisdom he praised.

Who knew POA was hawker?
She trusted son with all that she gave.
Yet, she died of bedsore, stage 4 with pus.

Group homes to hospice then the grave!
We’ll talk about Mom’s death without hush-hush.
Major cause: consumed caretaker.
