If we’re all angels, what explains evil:
murder, war, rape of gulf & forests
as well emotional abuse

of elderly some view as mere pests?
If ignorance isn’t excuse,
what explains skiing through avalanche hills?

Do some enjoy tying the noose
around our own necks with addictive pills,
booze, nicotine, food, though we know best?

Are some bodies, minds, purely landfills
visited by voices of lies?
What if it’s not enough to do best?

To forgive not forget is ruse,
basis of all churches say we’re blessed.
Contradictions abound though some are still

waiting purpose of confession test;
patience of those who pray not to be killed.
Is life’s lesson just to pay dues?

If we’re all angels, what explains evil:

as well emotional abuse?
