The Randomness of Everything

Janet Kuypers

I’ve written all my life
and doctors don’t know what ot make out of me
and I’ve wondered:

I’ve written books
collections over almost thirty years of writing

love,

rape,

death,

sexism,

violence in America
and I’ve wondered,
if, say, a hundred years from now,
if someone saw these books,
what would they think?
that I was a troubled soul?
that I was obsessed with talking about my problems?
or would they think
that I talked about so many

random, different things
that they wouldn’t know
how to put the pieces together?

well, I don’t know if anybody
could figure that out
not even a trained professional.
not even me.
