visiting mom and dad
(i think it was a sunday)
mom asked me,
what do you want for dinner
tuesday?

i don’t know what i want

tonight, or even if i want
to eat, much less

two days from now

i wanted to tell her
to relax,
not to worry about me,
and i thought,
there she goes again
