i’m not
the girl you want to cross
stronger now
than i was when you first met me
even stronger
than that girl in college
you caught me in the headlights twice,
but i’m no longer a deer;
i’m a raven
with talons sharper than your words
and a beak that will tear
deeper wounds
than you could ever manage—
i am not someone you should cross
can make my eyes the sharpest diamonds
will cut the glass of your shallow
little heart
send it up your esophagus so you can
choke on your own blood
maybe then you’ll know a fraction of the pain
you put others through.
