Maxwell Baumbach

I had a
fling
with a
church girl
that we kept
hush hush

I wrote her a poem
and gave it to her
between classes

a year later
when she was dating
someone else
she asked me
for another copy

and for all you know
you could be
her boyfriend
that isn’t cutting it
