And Apollo Landed

Mark Fleury

And Apollo landed
On the roof.

My animal heart
Swooned at the impression
Made from below my
Ceilinged (throated)
Rewards and punishments

For having autographed
The inside of my skull’s
Flights down from
God’s Daughter; Muse.

The apple seeds broke

Open the winged feet
And eyes wed sight. The marriage
Arranged by families
Of extended through-hoop
Jumpers and other trained
Monkey acts,

All of the other senses
Followed the vital-organ-
Loop (heart to genitals
To guts etc.) And ‘round
And up and down

For countless forevers
Until a cold blue spark
Fell from the Cross
Between thought/our love,
And your name-spirit,
And my devotion
To whom I am for you.

And these places,
One thought held,
Holds: many names in
A nameless feeling.
The son of the Goddess,
Blue demon combined
From ears and hearing,
Could see the light in
The ice hole and swam
To the top of the heart
That broke open a thought,
Free to fly away,
That stayed in its home.
Holy Ghost. The moral is goodbye.

So you see I had to be you.
My now depends on it.
