It Seems All

Mark Fleury

It seems all the library’s
Nows have closed around

When these malls open up onto
Gardens of imagination’s brick
Wall in me.

Blue parks time
In my throat.

I mean all the flowers

Are blue in the eyes of books

With wings.

So I went to a bowling alley
Where the lanes with strikes

Were in your line of vision.

Over the wall, a parking lot
Keeps the cars entertained too,
With mirrors that take into

Their hearts all sunrises.

Sprawl’s desolate because blue
Exhaust is mist of sunset

Beneath petals lidding

Angel’s fall. Does she worry
Where it’ll end, flood of light gullied

Against blue? I mean death isn’t very far
In terms of concentrating what surrounds

One onto a window’s vanity. I’m working

On my legacy, after all,
To consume my bowls of games.

That thunder’s when an angel
Rolls a strike is just as real
As lightning’s time delay.

I’m all about subjecting
The objective.

That’s what I mean by absorbing.
On the page is the verb that turns
All outs in.
