Muhammad, Jesus and Buddha

Mark Fleury

Muhammad, Jesus, and Buddha,
Replacements for the Angel who

In meditation + writing = poetry
Embraces the dying, demonic vision.

Just as empty + breath = the Muse.

I want to be the cause but I’m only
Effect, so my sentences are of the
Heart. Wild, dark, vast oven, sea-
Cool blue from genitalia to throat,
Thus obstructing my watery

Face, basemented, with windows
Made of blue sun, to warm
Up the trip, the march, from
Funeral to wings. I mean, from
The tightness in my chest

Cavity, whirl-pooling just
Below the bottom stair,

A lightning flash fills
Up your torso as if your
Body’s a Solar Ship over the

Sea. And it is. Up from library
As sunken ship, door at the
Top of the stairs closed behind,
You’ve left a home to enter in:

The Ship’s view of the blue sun,
From all directions, sets

As one against the inside of
The door. And flying into Eternity,

The heart tries (being empty) in vain
To describe the dying self;

That’s when soul gets to touch
Angel-demon with Allah, Christ and Zen.
