Mark Fleury

My life measured
In the length of a cigarette,

Or else my spine
Heart of a noun, either side

Of which are verbs
That are the same.

Former and latter
Pools for wings, vision
And the place for winged,

Pure awareness. Mind, science of
Breath: halfway, inhale
Touches exhale. Outside world.

Stillness/noun, base of
Speech, Spirit. To be filled
By verb: Space + Goddess
Of sex = Muse, to become poem.
