Vision Is Place

Vision is place, more
Private as consumed; lower’s public:

Soul’s the machine
That cleanses the reflective tool

(Plate as brain)

Used to eat “darkness-consuming light”
Projections.

Washing dishes
Was my first taxed job.
Thank God poetry’s moneyless.

Now my boss has hair
Of fire, windowed behind

Mask-doors that protect
Her eyes from the sizzling

Meal, tonged like the Serpent’s

Tongue. Erotic as mowing
The grass of the sun,

Her eyes pinpointed from
Ambition fulfilled through
Cocaine, she’s trapped in my
Lie called success.
