And Without a Tree

Mark Fleury

And without a tree

For sex as blue sky
To hide in and be consumed
By through its roots,

I’m piloted to shore
Through furrowed now

Of stained-glassed,

Clock-sucking
Rooster, a crowing
To leave church at dawn.

The way Guardian

At the gaseous gate,
Whose name got shot
In a Daughter’s addiction-
Setting heart, to bleed
Hissing ghost steam,
Can have a proper smile.

The island’s eruption
And subsequent lava flow
From a holy hole, honeyed,
Has to be sweet no matter
Where it’s finally from.

My Zen Queen must eat too,
Right? Sacral beams of lust
I taste, wide and one
Mother, Daughter, and Holy,

Clean as paper

From love-combed sight
Of my Mistress. My Zen Queen!
I worship from the bottom
Of that wishing well. I get buckets

Of honey from that golden
Dual-natured syllable: form/content

Wheeling my only access to Earth.
I am only a servant, fit to become not here.
