Light Angel, Sound God

Mark Fleury

Light Angel, Sound God.
An ape gnashes its teeth,
Outside the furthest
Reaches of light, together

Like skyscrapers;

From Angel mind,
Virgin energy, sight sexually
Aroused from having my space-head

Stroked. Devoted sparks
Forming the hearts, both
Together, vibration-spines

Of flowers that grow through
Syllables in charge of breaths.

And a sidewalk,

Running across the locked doors
Of Sound-God, of His/Her eyes.
Rusted, iron knowledge of loyalty
To light, fences with padlocks for each

Angel statue’s concrete sight.
Each one, dead-bolted against
The activity of sound, God’s love,

And worshipped by wrecking balls.

That’s what’s inside
Its head, King’s dome, excluding
Nothing while crashing walls

Into rubble.

Else the shell’s inside lining,
The beginning of vibration,
Of my body, a shadow gasping
For a meal, for God’s form,

For a journey’s end breath,

Can’t, no matter what
Was on my plate,

Be filled with stilled
Wings,

The ring that’s grail’s rim.
