Mused In You

Mark Fleury

Mused in you,
The horror, via breath,
Of the world too
Is there, lifted,
A painted canvass
Backdrop of a city sidewalk,
By the Angel.

Named Muse,
Holding reality
Above Her head
And with the other hand
Finger curling to draw you
Into form, yourself,

Those open palms touch
The electric current of the sentence.

Means all outsides are in content.
No matter how far away it is
From my personal sky, my outside
Is always in the poem.

It only gets here through you:
Angel: a combination of open
Space and content/sound.

‘As’ means light, ability to see
Syllabic forms move through
Space – code for God – to touch ‘is,’
The vibration of form,

Changing, across space
That “has a name but no form,”
To instead, by God, be held by the sweet
Sound of content.
