Three

Mark Fleury

I grabbed the three
Sparks with my tongue
To speech them together,
And their gaping maw:
Creation, duration and destruction,

Was burning round the wine stain
Circle on the table,
Not a symbol for the Golden Cup,

But a place, my ceremony
For consuming, where you open
Up for worship.

If not stilled, then, my wings’d
Burn away to become
My own infinitely

Inward eyes,

And the steeple tip a ghost, a signal
Gatherer, a rebellious child.

Debris, each sound around me,

Gathered at the bottoms
That once were of my eyes, wells
Where ground, an inward

Sound road gathers its currents,
The orgasm of Angelic mind,
Light of night for stars.
The flow at their root begins

And ends in you, Muse’s sound.
