And The Same Vision

Mark Fleury

And the same vision
Includes the death of a mind
And the birth of a body.

Throw means flap across
The void. The sound can send
A chill down the blue-lipped
Mind of a shivering child on an ice raft.

This is the Muse-Angel
Who has been abandoned
By turning oneself

Into a brick wall: greed is a body

Without a mind..
The top of Muse’s head
Is how Serpent enters heaven;

This while Serpent protects
Muse from mindless bodies.
Too much body’s about the hunt
And the kill: greed and money.

Yet I, being space, can focus
On it because I’m not ready yet
To become myself. And as each photo
On my licenses to kill my past
Become more and more the pineal eye
That blinks and flexes the sound
Of its wings, I can see one opening
For all words to be contained in.

And it’s yours.
In is flap’s death.
Out’s what’s next.
