Hummingbird
Through the air,

God means up while opening:
The furthest reaches of a zinnia’s petals.
Red, inside Angel, the Devil
Is the concentration
Of space for nectar.

Angel’s wings are a rising chest.

Setting sun the same place
The world is Angel already gone. Her name
Died with time and space.
She means open psyche

Carries the sun’s
Sheen of the west coast,
Where she’s already gone

Against those who try to take
God’s sole authority to destroy.

Her wings, lifted to the highest
Edges of the Fountain of Youth,
On the north side of Eden, the edges

Of the petals
That make the zinnia

Beyond its deserted name.

Devil is the one closed
Bud of a word at the center
Of all the beyond
Language of imagery.

She’s already gone.
