Now I don’t have to worry
About the smells of newspaper
Headlines. All of my habits

Are falling around the
Golden Gate, just south

Of a volcano’s mouth.
What happens to time
And space? Steam rises, slithering

From the grave of consumption.
My grumbling belly has been
Penetrated by a hunger for
Becoming the earth. I’ll have to wait

Until the sky is broken by
The bedrock knocks of Devil Boss’s
Hand on heaven’s stone door.
I can see

Into the eyes of God.
The death of Angel’s name.
The Devil’s stoned heart,
It’s space, opening, erupting,
To plant seeds of poems.
It’s where real things shed their skin

Of language.
