The Flutter

Mark Fleury

The flutter

Of a snare drum roll,

Representing the colors
Of a butterfly rainbow,

Closes a red mouth,

Heaven’s Light
Swallowing whole
The chatter, the march toward
The prism of peace
And me following
The two-sided heartbeat:
Duality inside one

Heaven’s Light as word
Itself at the center of the round
Soul that is space.
Evolved Serpent, Heaven’s Light
Protects me, naked ego, from
All that’s outside language.

God is fishing for Serpent-
Shaped Angels.
