Whose Thought Is Oneness

Mark Fleury

Whose thought is oneness,
And how can it be metaphored
By the universe?

In between is the open space
That the cosmos is less real than.
How else could new poems
Be added to a one
Already complete?

Can Devil, separation from God,
Leave the essence of language?

Less than oneness
Must be my dying vision,
Where my wings of nothing
Are leaving the darkness of words.

The spined thread,
The line, the sentence, is the One
Thought seen, not with the eyes,
But with the heart of Devil’s Mind.
There Oneness is an idea
Imagined by God.

Evolved, Devil now protects
The Angel’s one-door entrance
Against racism, sexism and homophobia.

Thus through the unity
Of openness and psychic strength,
Religion becomes self-contained,
And also free

From anyone who wants to control
Another person’s mind.
