How much space between heart of line
And its syllable?
The apple core chasm,
A Bible burning in the sun.
As my body disappears to become
Your heartbeat,
The whole world is just an elaborate shadow of this openness.
Where the poem’s window
To Heaven blows through wings
Shared with this world’s patterns, anywhere
Is directly into the eyes
Of the sun as it rises.
