Even Though I’m Becoming the Sunrise
Mark Fleury
Even though I’m becoming the Sunrise,
There’s no living engulfed by its outside,
Lifting my spine’s golden strands
Like a rope, life-lined, rooted,
And touching the underground,
Vertical glass pane. The Sun
Has saturated the soil
Like rain, Light dripping
From my Angel eyes and nose
Where my shadow-head is form
And content before they separate.
Lifeline shadows, flames of sight,
Sentences, thread the Sunrise and burn
Through my Angelic grave, where I see.
